Okay guys, time to stop at Burger King and load up on a few Whoppers if you are planning a long drive.

Yes, due to the extra baggage a guy can carry around his belly, fatter men are safer in car accidents. A recent study by the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute shows that men with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 35-50 stand a 22% lower chance of being killed in a crash vs those with a BMI between 15-18.4

While this seems to be logical, the same does not apply to women! Women with a BMI between 35-50 have a 10% HIGHER probability of being killed in a crash.
