I accompanied my daughter who is a young woman (18 y/o) with multiple debilitating conditions to see Dr. Atlas yesterday at his offsite clinic in Port Credit. I cannot say enough about his compassionate, candid and professional approach. He is very thoughtful, keeping in mind what is in the best interest of the patient, when discussing and offering recommendations. His openness and self-initiative to communicate and coordinate care with other specialist involved in my daughter's care was invaluable, if not, the most important thing we needed to feel cared for and lessen our burden of coping with multiple conditions that impact one another. He demonstrated openness to work with other health care professionals to meet my daughter's complex needs. I am finding that this is a rare commodity outside of the downtown Toronto hospitals in the adult health care system. His knowledge goes without saying; it is an excellent baseline to everything he does. The staff greeted us very well and were caring at his offsite clinic. However, prior to our clinic appointment, reaching them over the phone and requesting to relay information to him or referring doctor was extremely difficult and almost impossible. It took 4 days to speak to someone and at the end the most important part of the message to us was not delivered. The part of the message that was relayed was one that impacted the clinic and the other part which had an impact on the patient was not delivered. It left us feeling hopeless. I am rating the staff based on their approach on the day of the clinic. We do not have experience yet with his staff at his usual clinic. Our follow up appointment will be at his usual clinic in Etobicoke and I am looking forward to meeting his staff. To us, the staff is our point of entry and critical in helping us navigate the system for our complex medical needs. I am grateful for Dr. Atlas' approach and have already recommended him to a health care professional I happen to run into yesterday who happened to be looking for someone like him to refer her patients.

Very quiet dr. Very straight, short answers to questions - not one to give information - you have to ask - go to appointments prepared with questions you may have. Performed surgery on my daughter and was very caring - came up to see that everything was good.
