Charged $60 for completing a simple drug prior authorization form for insurance that would take less than 1 minute. She did say there would be a charge, but did not state the amount. The amount was not stated until after the form was completed. The form was presented in her office while being consulted for the condition that the drug was prescribed. No research time would be involved because the visit would require the doctor to have refreshed on all relevant info required for the form. This fee seems beyond any reasonable boundaries for the service provided. The issue is not the doctors right to be compensated, it is the unreasonableness of the amount with respect to the minuscule time and effort involved.
