She Is very professional but very caring. She is very thorough and our health comes first and foremost. She takes the time to ensure that she understands our health issues and prescribes to what is best for myself and my family. Her staff is awesome too.

Dr. Chartier's secretary (who is thankfully on maternity leave) is incredibly rude, and will hang up on you if you so much as ask the wrong question. Appointments are always running late, and this has become much, much worse since she opted for the 'family health team' model. Dr. Chartier has a kind of superficial helpfulness; she'll (sometimes) pretend to listen to what you have to say before telling you what she's going to do, but in most cases you'll be lucky to get half a sentence out. God help you if you suggest what a problem might be and it turns out you're right and she's wrong. She will pull out every excuse in the book to explain why she never bothered to listen to you in the first place.

Dr. Chartier rushes the appointment and we often leave without answers or not knowing what step to take next. She is knowledgeable to a certain extent but don't show her up. If you figure something out before her..... Watch out. She doesn't let you finish your sentence or ever gets the whole story. Sometimes I don't think she even understands why are there and makes you feel like your wasting her time. I agree with the other rating saying that she is already out the door to her next patient still talking to you. She can be argumentative especially if she is challenged.... I also agree that she needs to bring her ego down a notch and work at making the patients feel important. I use to like her until she got involved with this West Durham Family Health team. Now I just feel like a number to help bring in the money.

An accomplished, knowledgeable and caring doctor. Be prepared to wait as she is always over-booked. Too many patients due to the lack of family doctors in the Durham region.

SHe is not really caring, rushes the appointment, doesn't make you feel like you know your own body and doesn't let you finish your sentence let alone cares about really why you are there. She is already out the door to her next patient still talking to you. She can be argumentative.... which is wonderful as a doctor. She needs to work on her empathy, sympathy and bring her ego down a notch. And let the patient feel important.

If your appointment is for 1pm, don't bother going until 15-20 minutes AFTER that. The staff isn't friendly at all and it's soo hard to get an appointment with her and you can't even leave a message to have someone call you back.
