I saw this doctor via house call service. My window WAS 4-7 and he arrived promptly at 4. I was dreading this appointment because I had a very embarrassing complaint but he was professional and courteous especially when inspecting the affected area. I will definitely see him again, hopefully with a less embarrassing problem.

My experience going to this walk in clinic was NOT GOOD. First, i was not told that Dr. Rajiv Balasuriya is the subject of a referral to the Discipline Committee into allegations that he engaged in the sexual abuse of a patient; and engaged in conduct or an act or omission relevant to the practice of medicine that, having regard to all the circumstances, would reasonably be regarded by members as disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional. (cpso.on.ca/DoctorDetails…) Until AFTER I was in the room to see him (I was not given a choice to see someone else, I was just given a form to sign to say it was ok for his nurse to be in the room with him because of the college of doctors requirements). He abruptly stuck a swab into my mouth without any rationale, once asked he said it was to test for strep throat. Apparently, they can test for this in 10 minutes because I was told I did not have strep and I only had a virus which he could do nothing about. He gave me a note and sent me on my way. I got way worse, and had to see my own doctor who gave me a diagnosis and put me on the appropriate medications.

It was a great pleasure to have been in Dr. Balasuriya's care while he practiced in St Catharines. He was so kind, he went above & beyond for my health & wellness. I have missed him & wish him well in his new practice!

we are devastated he is leaving st catharines-a great doctor-the best ever we cannot find a doctor here suitable to our needs very few accepting new patients and not acceptable it is ok to go to a walk in clinic but some people may not know at a clinic they will not fill some type of prescriptions so these very important prescriptions cannot be filled so when these refills run out for us we will have stop taking them-some are very important to our system what a sad situation for us to be in |I rely on some of these in a big way for living

He seemed to be a good caring doctor when I went for my 1st consultation. Was told by the staff when I first was checking for a new doctor that he takes evening appts. A month later I needed to make an appt and when I tried to book an appt around 5:30 the staff tell me that he does not do evening appts. I cannot take time of work every time I need to see the doctor. If you can only go evenings, do not waste your time checking out this doctor. Staff should have been honest with me when I first inquired about evening appts!

After all these years,I finally have a very good doctor.He is very thorough and caring.If you have to wait at times,it's because he cares about all his patients.He is also a great listener,you never feel he is in a hurry. I am blessed to have such a REALLY good doctor!
