Beware that the doctor's appear to be taking upon themselves to be the watch dogs of the Automobile licensing function for MTO. No communication was provide by the doctor prior to a session with a therapist as to the objective of the referred meeting. In the past, the doctor's first priority was to help the patient with their issues and there was a duty of trust. It appears things have changed and the first priority appears not to be that of patient care but the good of the public interest. Doctor's now have a different agenda than in the past and is not communicating this with the patients. A therapy meeting could be the start of an interrogation to remove a senior's license - even though they may have an impecable driving record. If they can't answer some simple questions like what is the date today etc,or one does not like driving at night, then it appears this may be grounds for the doctor to write the ministry to suggest the remove the seniors license. Better communication in this area is key. Check out the Globe and Mail front page article Feb 24/13 about the sudbury seniors up in arms about targeting seniors in this regard.

After years of not having a family doctor I was very happy to learn that Dr. Smith was coming to the area and accepting patients. He is very caring, genuine and thorough. I feel very lucky to have him as my family physician!

I really like Dr Smith, he is the first doctor to ever notice my psporisis and made an appointment for me with a Specialist. He is a wonderful doctor and we the general public are lucky to have him.
