I feel very fortunate to have Dr. VanRooyen as my family Doctor. He is very thorough and caring...while I see some reviews which speak on wait times, it should be noted that he gives each patient his time and provides ample notice of upcoming vacations. I would think that like everyone, he is entitled to a rest!!

Dr Van Rooyen takes un necessary risks with some patients. Refuses to listen or invite other specialists to the hospital to help consult they're patient. Changes medications that were subscribed to patients by specialists, with very sad consequences. Walks away from you when your trying to have a conversation with him.

Dr VanRooyen is a wonderful doctor, in fact he is the best doctor I have ever had. My family and I have been going to him since he first opened in Penetang. He is kind, caring, compassionate, helpful and a sincere man. I am so happy and grateful to have him as our family doctor! :)

We wanted a GP so we wouldn't have to wait in line at the hospital emergency room for health care. When we signed up with this doctor we weren't aware that he's on vacation most of the time and its a 2 month wait for an appointment. Yes, he's our family doctor but we have to go to the hospital for most of our medical needs ; its ridiculous ! Wish we had known beforehand that he's never around.

He's out of his office more than he's in, which means you'll wait a long time for an appointment ; literally weeks and even months. You may as well just go to the hospital for treatment ... its only a 3 hour wait there as opposed to 3 months with this doctor. Doctors should tell you up front if they are in semi-retirement so you can continue to look for a more reliable physician.

Wait times for an appointment are too long up to 3-4 months for a routine physical. He is on vacation too much sometimes for months at a time. Staff are friendly.

He is away on holiday far too often !The wait times for appointments are too long as well. When you do get in though, he is thorough and not afraid to refer to someone else if need be.
