Touching story Matt. And I understand cetplemoly. My duaghter had heart surgery at Sick Kids shortly after she was born at Women's College, 15 weeks preamture and I distinctly remember that sinking feeling when they took her (away from me) into surgery. I didn't know if I'd ever see her again. Those 3 hours were the lognest and most gut wrenching of my life.And as you say the nurses well, they made all the difference. They weren't just adept at taking care of the babies they were outstanding at taking care of the parents!To this day I am in awe of and filled with gratitude for health care professionals, and nurses in particular. And I am most especially thankful we live in Canada where our health care system, while not perfect is truly universal and there when we need it.
