Dr. Van Straalen has been my doctor for over 21 years. She is kind and attentive. When Georgetown Emerg sent me home with a clean bill of health despite my breathing issues, she received my X-rays and called to ensure I was being treated for the pneumonia she spotted.

She is always very caring and willing to listen; she is calm and gentle in manner and sensitive to each person's needs - my daughter talks easily with her. Sha has always helped and been available for us.

Dr van straalen is a great family practice doc. She knows her stuff, but isn't afraid to admit when something is out of her scope. I believe she sees the bigger picture and walks a fine balance between doing what's right for patients, and not wasting resources/time. I have never felt rushed, talked down do/ talked over my head.
