Recently left Dr. Atkins. It's time for him to retire. Took him two years to find out what was wrong with me. unacceptable. I was in so much pain. People should leave and go get another doctor.

The staff is uncaring and rude. The doctor was unhelpful and and unpleasant. He is always too much in a hurry. He never treats the wounds properly. The nurse (secretary) is extremely rude and is never helpful. She seems to be living in her own little world. When people go to the doctor's, the least they can expect is to receive some care, gentle treatment and effective and compassionate advice from a professional. This office lacked these qualities.

I have been a patient of Dr. Atkins for several years but now it is time to move on. He has five thousand patients, but still has a sign in the window reading accepting new patients. I called for an appointment recently and the first available spot was in 21 days. Unacceptable. Greed here is a factor.

I have been going to Doctor Atkins for a few years and have experienced him being short and uninterested before but nothing too bad. However my last visit left me feeling insulted, belittled, and neglected by my doctor who is meant to care for me. I went with a recurring problem which I had talked about with him before. He became upset saying he didn't know what I expected from him as I didn't follow his advice from my last visit, even though I experienced worse problems with the meds he prescribed. He actually said that he was sick of lazy people who refuse to take his advice. I asked for a referral and he refused saying there was no point and the problems I'm experiencing are my "new normal" and I should just get used to them. I asked for requisition for further testing and he finally wrote them out, slammed them down saying I could go but it's a waste of my time. I was there with my children and my three year old said as we were leaving that that man was really rude. How true! I'll never go back to see him again. This is not the way to treat anyone especially a patient, worried about their health and seeking help. Appalling!

He is in too much of a hurry to treat you properly. I find him rude and it's like he can't wait to get you out of his office. His receptionist is a nasty piece of work.

Dr Atkins has alawys been kind and caring as my doctor. Would not change, everyone has bad days and doctors are human and cannot be 100% in a good mood all the time.

I too find him bordering on caring to rude bordering on verbally abusive. Never speak unless you have been asked to and certainly don't tell him more then one symptom,you will need several appointments to do so.He was very kind to me in the beginning ,but then tore a layer off my husband and I actually telling us to be quiet. He has made me feel like a bad little kid more then once.But what can you do? No one especially a Dr. should take their problems out on their patients.

The staff are abrupt on the phone. Placing u on hold before u get a word in ALL the time. The dr makes u wait in 'your room' a while before he arrives. Often he comes across as distracted and doesn't remember what u came in for on follow ups. He has your file but obviously doesn't even glance at it before entering your room and does not like being interrupted if he is talking to you, whether off topic or not. The wait time for an appointment is about 2 weeks.

He was my doctor but not anymore, he alternates between being caring and rude. He left me on the wrong dose of medication for 4 years and argued when I asked for a second opinion. He also prescribed me the wrong dosage of my medication twice, thank goodness my pharmacy is so good, they caught his mistakes.
