Love Dr. Almond, was our family doctor for 35+years. So sad he's retired (but happy for him), his replacement will never come close to his caring, compassionate ways.

He is quite knowledgeable and keeps up to date with the latest medical research. I have found him at times to quick to write a prescription without discussing the root cause of the issue. For example, I started crying and he quickly wrote a script for anti-depressants without discussing the reason for me crying. These pills made me fall asleep which was later corrected by another physician.

Has been my doctor for years. He is burnt out. The only reason he comes to hospital every day is because he gets paid to stick his head in the doorway for 2 seconds. He gets to billl the Ont. government for that 2 second look. Even if you are still asleep, all he does is stand in the doorway and look in and he gets to bill for that. My whole family has him as their doctor and he is mostly useless but it is almost impossible to get a family doctor in Thunder Bay so a useless doctor is better than no doctor.

One of the few Dr. that when you are in the hospital visits you every morning. So reassuring when you know they can get ahold of your Dr. Some Dr. don't do hospital visits and you are left with a stranger with your life in their hands.

Love him! Kind, compassionate and dedicated to his craft. Teaches at our medical school and helps those starting out. I hope he can spare some time to take care of himself - he is a blessing and I am proud to have been his patient for 20 years.
