After being diagnosed with invasive Triple Negative Breast Cancer(TNBC) at age 46, I was told by Dr. Warr that it was "just a fad". He told me "to go home, and live my life" when I asked about having some chemo, and getting genetic testing done, as per the significant amount of copies of published medical research studies I had actually brought with me (I am a former oncology nurse, and I did extensive research on TNBC, and its treatment, after my diagnosis). This man was extremely arrogant, dismissive, condescending, patronizing, and rude. His first question to me was whether I was "flamboyant"; I was wearing a hat on a -20 winter day(??). Thankfully, I found an incredible oncologist at Sunnybrook whose specialty was treating, and doing research with patients with TNBC (I had read her published research studies) who agreed to accept me as her patient. By the time I saw her initially, it was too late to have chemo (related to my original surgery date), but she agreed she would have given it to me had she seen me earlier. She immediately sent me for genetic testing, and she carefully followed me for five years. I would never recommend Dr. Warr to anyone requiring an oncologist, and it is unfortunate that someone as deficient, abrupt, uncaring, disparaging, and cavalier is actually seeing, and treating cancer patients within a medical specialty that demands competence, compassion, respect, and caring. His attitude, and his knowledge base concerning TNBC is deplorable, and disgusting.
