Dr. Greenberg is an excellent gastroenterologist and his secretary is efficient. However, I don't think it's fair to criticize the people who have commented on Anna not returning phone calls. Saying the comments were "one-sided" was a selfish and insensitive suggestion. Not nice to suck up. These patients have every right to vent their frustrations or at least let it be known that their phone calls haven't been returned. It was a fair comment and not delivered in an extremely critical or harsh manner. Anna is an excellent secretary and knows far more about colitis and medicine than probably most secretaries in the world. If you can get ahold of her she is probably far more helpful than most medical secretaries in the world. I'm sure she knows returning phone calls was her weak point and may have gotten better at that since the reviews were written. As for Dr. Greenberg, without him my life and that of many of his patients would probably be a lot different and not for the better. Colitis is a complicated condition to deal with and he knows what he is doing. The reviewer who suggested he and his secretary were punishing her for not participating in a study and not allowing him to perform a sigmoidoscope is likely off-base. Maybe Dr. Greenberg felt that he couldn't help her unless she participated in the study and performed the sigmoidoscope. As far as I'm concerned, and I've been seeing Dr. Greenberg for 21 years, a sigmoidoscope is essential. Unpleasant, especially if you don't empty your bowels as much as possible before, but necessary. Who cares whether her GP agrees with her that it's unnecessary? Many family doctors know as much or less about colitis as my cats. Quite frankly, I wouldn't expect them to know a lot more. If they did, why wouldn't they be gastroenterologists and increase their pay by a substantial amount.

Have been seeing Dr. Greenberg for 13 years now. Great doctor. Takes the time to understand problems and offers advice as well as options. Always a pleasure to see him.
