Dr. Charania is very old and does not have any patience to deal with patients with many questions. She is barely in the office and everytime I call they are closed on a weekday at 2-3pm. You must book an appointment well in advance, and they give you a really hard time if you see a doctor besides her. Also she is very slow with taking down notes from when you talk to her. Calling the office alone takes at least an hour to get through to someone. Not impressed. Will be looking to change my family doctor ASAP.

Dr.Charania is my mom's family doctor. Dr. Charania listens to the patient's concerns and tries her best to address them. The waiting time can be long at times...but we cannot have both. A Dr that listens then tries to find a solution or one that does not listen and jumps onto conclusions... Her secretary is really great she goes above and beyond her call of duty.

I have been a patient of Dr. Charania's for 3 years. I find her very knowledgeable and a caring Doctor. She always addresses my concerns. If she is unsure of something I am sent for lab/blood tests. I am always called back in a timely fashion if something needs further investigation. Occasionally, I will have to wait a bit. I understand that people with small children or others with more serious problems do need more time. People in General, have to be more tolerant as our medical system is suffering due to government cut-backs. When you find a good doctor...stick with them and stop complaining.

My family has been with Dr. Charania for almost 5 years. Her receptionists have been great and always fit us in for appointments (usually within the same day). However, the wait is at least an hour every time before we are seen. This is extremely difficult to deal with when you have small children. Dr. Charania is very quick to prescribe antibiotics and has refused to complete tests to confirm her diagnosis on more than one occasion (e.g., take a swab for strep throat, or refer for an x-ray when we were concerned). On most days she seems caring; however, she can be rude and inappropriate as well (i.e., suggesting my spouse could hold it against me that my child was late to be vaccinated - should we ever get separated). Dr. Charania has been observed to be disorganized on most visits as well (e.g., leaving her tape measure in another room, stating that she was recording her notes on the wrong chart etc.) Needless to say, our family has been looking for a new GP, but have stayed with her, since there is no one else in Whitby accepting new patients at this time...

1.Made me change my old health card telling me it expired.(big fat lie,Service ON confirmed.) 2. Husband had skin biopsy by specialist about 6 months ago Dr.C. never called back with results. Even after calling her. 3. Husband needs specialist aptmnt. for shoulder pain, Dr.C. is on vacation. She is part of a group of useless doctors. They give you and appointment, then cancel it when they find out you want a referral. Where is the patient care here???? I have no positive experience with Dr.C. at all.

I was a patient for a few years. Her staff is very friendly. The Dr.is a very nice woman and seemed caring at first but has issues with her administration of her practice. She mixed up my records with another patient, forgot to submit referrals for specialists that she said I needed on more than one occasion and her wait times are very long. Unless you arrange for the first appointments of the day you are waiting for an hour or more. The last straw was when she told me my gall bladder was about to burst and I needed a surgical appt. asap...then didn't send the referral for 3 weeks. I had to call to remind them..then got to the surgeon's office and he looked at me like I had 3 heads...my gallbladder was fine. I decided I needed a Dr that I could trust, so I've moved to another dr.

This is a terrible doctor! She was unhelpful when I was having an allergic reaction, suggesting that perhaps I slept funny so I broke out into hives. There was never less than a 2 hour wait regardless of what time your scheduled appointment was. Her staff is not friendly! They insist on not speaking English to each other in the office, which I find disrespectful to her clients.

I have been with Dr. Charania for the last three years. I never met any doctor that takes the time to talk to you and help you out with what ever medical issue you may have. Yes, I wait about 30minutes to see her, but when your turn comes she does not treat you like a number or prescribe what ever medication to send you on your way. She listens to what you have to say and also figures out what the best course of action is before prescribing you with medication. She is fantatic with my kids, 2 years ago my little girl had a bad ear infection, I called the Dr. Charanian after hours and asked if she could see her, she went out of her way to see her, even though she had work a long day she still took time to see my daughter. She called us at home to follow up, what doctor does that. We are very please with her,I'm glad we found her.

I have been a patient of Dr.Charnia's for almost three years. I am a 74 year old with kidney failure, heart disease and sugar diabetes. Dr. Charnia is very knowledgeable and takes the time to stay on top of the medical problems I am having. She goes out of her way to call me to see if I am o.k. and if there is anything she can do for me. She has brought me back to health many times when I thought I was dying. I have total faith in her practice and am very grateful for her medical knowledge as I have my quality of life with her as my doctor. I have never had to wait to see her and when I need questions answered she takes the time to help me understand what I have inquired as to my health and medications I am taken. She has never been wrong in helping me stay alive. If it wasn't for her I may not sure if id be here today as other doctors have not been able to control my diseases. Thank you so much Dr. Charnia.

She's been always an hour late to my appointments and then she only spends 5 minutes with me. My health issues are all related to "stress" or a historic medical condition, with no option to ask for some extra checking. I'm changing doctors as soon as I find another accepting patients.
