I was a patient with Dr. Priestner for ~18 years before moving to the US. In my youth (at 14 y/o) she was the only dr who took the time to listen to me and who addressed my teenage concerns vs. my previous male doctor who didn't want to discuss 14 y/o menstrual cramps with me and instead gave me a book about teenage safe sex. My mother also switched doctors with me at the same time. My mom continues to go to her to this day as she has had the terrible misfortune of experiencing a car accident that left her with life changing issues, and most recently a benign but aggressive growing tumor in her cheek and now a diagnosis of colon cancer. Dr. Priestner has been there for my mother every step of the way - she's gone out of her way and above and beyond for my mother to make her comfortable and understand her treatment, diagnosis or situation. She's been my mother's primary physician, constant confidant and friend. We both have enjoyed the staff and we got to know everyone on a personal level. Dr. Priestner is someone who will take her time with her paientents and will listen if you have a legitimate ailment and you don't waste her time. Time is precious for those who are sick and who need her time. I think Dr. Priestner truly cares for her patients, she's good to her team, they seem to enjoy working with her. Being a doctor in Canada is not easy - as someone who now lives in the US - I've seen it from both sides. Canadian health Care is just that. You have to wait. I feel that Canadian patients have an unrealistic expectation that come across sometimes like spoiled brats. Yes, you pay for it via taxes - but your doctors are people too and they are not machines. I think if Canadians had to walk a mile in shoes of a regular Joe in the US, they would appreciate what they have.

Dr. Priestner always runs at least an hour late, even if you're the very first appt of the day. She does not listen to her patients, and she does not take tell-tall signs of cancer seriously, only after diagnosis did she care enough to make me find my own specialist. Her and her staff are awful. Go elsewhere for your health and safety.

Extremely busy all the time - because she is GOOD. The wait is worth it - once you are with her she gives you all the time you need.Dont be fooled by her brusk manner - she's a soft, kind marshmallow underneath.

Dr. Priestner has been helping us for over 20 years. She is an outstanding physician for a host of reasons. Caring, understanding, experienced... the list is endless. And best of all, if she is unsure of a diagnosis, she is very thorough in drawing in the opinions of others and providing timely referrals. I would highly recommend her to anyone need a great GP.
