She is tough but brilliant. She calls what she thinks and that is why one is there. Initially, I too thought the dogs were a distraction but really what is happening is that she is getting you distracted so you feel more comfortable. Eccentric yes, but once you give her a chance she will move mountains for you. In complete honesty I do not trust anyone but her and since she was a past family doctor with years of experience she picks up on things (medically) that normally a psychotherapist would have no expertise in. I just think she is the greatest!!

Dr. Patricia Barry is a doctor who is kind and shows empathy, she listens to her patients and encourages them to be the best that they can be. Through education. She encourages her patience to have an active role in their health, by getting them to set goals. She teaches cognitive therapy be be progressive and move in a positive direction, and not stay stuck in mental illness. I have been blessed to have her as my doctor.

Extremely disappointed with service provided by Dr Barry. Complete lack of emotional empathy or support. Was told I was manifesting issues in my head with my imagination. Presence of two dogs during the visit was unprofessional. Dogs jumping on the couch, sniffing in my bag. Dr Barry feeding them treats rather than listening to her patient. Baffling as to how this is a certified healthcare professional.

Very disappointed in this doctor. She takes on preferred patients only after answering a complete questionnaire. She is the only gp psychotherapist in Burlington. Two toy poodles attend the appointment where they are fed and settle down in the appointment room.
