I made an appointment to see Dr. Wanes for a medical note for massage therapy for a neck injury I sustained in early May 2017. The scheduling assistant couldn't schedule me earlier than two weeks away! When I arrived, a technician took my blood pressure and made a note on the computer. When Dr. Wanes came in, she acknowledged that I came for a medical note but proceeded to ask me if I was gaining weight, requisitioned blood pressure medication though my local Shopper's Drug Mart for 20 mgs more per the dose I'm currently taking, requisitioned blood work and a mammogram as these hadn't been done since 2013/2014 respectively, according to her records. She did include the note for massage therapy. I asked if she'd review the results of the tests and she said that was up to me to schedule an appointment post-testing. If I could find another female GP who is accepting new patients in Kemptville, I'd change doctors immediately.

Don't think she ever took her eyes off her computer to look at me. Asked no questions, suggested nothing. Not impressed at all. Will definitely be looking for another Dr.

Dr. Wanes was my doctor and told me I was going to die. I had a 35% chance of having a heart attack within the next 10 years. She didn't believe that I would invest in my health and loose weight. She was rude, was holding her PC within the doorway, not even looking at me. Now, 3 years after leaving that office, I've lost 75 lb, I've been taken off all meds by my dr who believed in me and worked with me towards this goal. No more diabetes, no more high blood pressure, no more cholesterol. CLEAN bill of health! That woman is impolite, rude, asks you questions and cut you off while you reply. Her office isn't clean, her staff is rude, no wonder working for her. Don't bother seeing her. She isn't worth your time. You will not get better.....

As a senior with some on-going problems, I feel very confident trusting Dr. Wanes. She is thorough, concerned, and has helped me greatly. I am grateful she tracks me through her computer use!

I recently brought my daughter ( 19 months) to the walk in clinic and Dr wanes was the doctor on that day. It was a Sunday so my doctor’s paediatrician’s office was closed and I was concerned about my daughter’s well-being. Dr Wanes was rude, showed a lack of compassion, not thorough and seemed to rush our visit ( which we waited over 2 hours for!) My daughter had sores on her buttocks and Dr wanes diagnosed this as a “diaper rash” I then went on to explain that my daughter wasn’t eating or drinking and also had small sores on her hands and feet. She told me that she was at the begging stages of a cold and went to the door to “dismiss” our visit. It seemed a bit odd to me so on Monday I got a second opinion. It turned out that my daughter had “hand/mouth” disease and that was why she has sores on her behind and on her hand. She wasn’t eating because it hurt her to the sores in her mouth. This is a very common virus for toddlers and the fact that Dr Wanes missed all of the obvious signs isn’t very reassuring. I will NEVER go back to Dr Wanes.

Dr. Wanes is now my physician and she seems very knowledgeable and interested though I have only seen her for a physical at this point. Office was understaffed the day I was in.
