Took over for my retiring Dr Shonk. Rhodes comes off as very uncaring. Even raised my prescription of a heavy narcotic to a ridiculous amount, when I did not even wanting it and wished to switch meds. Not only after giving me the meds, told me via mail that my whole family needed to find new doctor. Love Dr Shonk but he found a real piece of something to look after his old patients.

The horrible attitude of the staff is completely unnecessary and simply rude. No matter what your calling for or when they make you feel like you are inconveniencing them. Unacceptable for the first person you see/talk to at the practice.

I could not believe when I phoned to make an appointment with Dr. Rhodes last month and they said I was no longer a patient. They advised I would be getting a letter and it would explain everything. That day I received this upsetting letter. I have been a patient with this office for 36 years. I was with Dr. Shonk for 34 years. I knew Dr. Shonk longer than my husband. Dr. Rhodes mentions in his letter that patients were complaining regarding timely access to care and appointment times for patients and having to go to walk-in-clinics. This office always had a policy not to go to walk in clinics which I never did. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM GETTING AN APPOINTMENT NOR DID I HAVE TO WAIT WHEN I ARRIVED, AND further more NEVER COMPLAINED TO DR. RHODES. I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE CARE RHODES PROVIDED. I am sure this was not an over night decision of Dr. Rhodes. I asked his staff why did he not find another doctor to take over half of his patients. They said they did not have room in their office and it was not his responsibility to find another doctor. I replied, "Really, but Dr. Shonk was considerate and found a replacement and it was Dr. Rhodes. She did not respond. I asked what the percentage of patients was on the list and she replied saying it was large and it was young and old that was on his random list. Maybe they could have made their office/waiting room a bit smaller for another doctor. When Dr. Shonk retired he had the courtesy to find Dr. Rhodes who was working in a walk in clinic from what I understand and wanted his OWN PRACTICE. Dr. Rhodes knew how large this practice was when he took over from Dr. Shonk. Yes there are older patients here, what on earth was he thinking. He also seemed to be on holidays more than Dr. Shonk. I also told my pharmacy about Dr. Rhodes downsizing and they were shocked and said why would he do this knowing we have no doctors in Kitchener area. They replied that this was terrible. Good luck to all his patients in finding a new doctor.

Dr, Rhodes has just dropped many of his patients without warning. He mailed them a letter indicating that aging and chronic patients were using up too much of his time! He would not speak to these patients and his staff was completely dismissive. Is this what patient care has come to? Whatever happened to "first do no harm"? Shame on you Dr. Rhodes for your ageism and cowardly behaviour!

Dr. is great and really goes out of his way to be helpful. The staff who have been there too long are very rude and abrupt.

He is an amazing Dr. Never feel rushed, knows his stuff!! Best Doctor, by far. His staff - not so nice. Grumpy most of the time, they make you feel like you are wasting their time.
