Went into emergency early Jan 18 complaining of severe pain and swelling in the gallbladder region. This Dr was dismissive and inattentive. After an hour of morphine drip and An antiiflammatory he figured he had done his due diligences and was going to discharge me despite that I still had pain and inflammation in the gallbladder. Said I needed an ultrasound but I'd have to arrange it through my family doctor. My husband advised him that we would not be leaving the hospital without an ultrasound as my symptoms had only minimally improved. The dr became annoyed and said he would set it up but it would take several hours, at which point I suggested unless a cancellation came up? He reluctantly agreed. I had the ultrasound within the hour but this doctor made us wait over 3 hours for results. Many other patients had imaging test and results within an hour. My husband had to find the doctor to ask why we were still waiting, his reply? I Told you it would take a long time. He saw us shortly thereafter and reported that the gallbladder is inflamed and had multiple stones. He said he would refer us to a surgeon and release me with pain meds. I expressed concern that morphine and tordol had not improved the attack, that we lived far away, shouldn't he be doing more for me. He said no, if the pain comes back, return to emerge. Again I stated that the pain and swelling were still active and again he dismissed me. I was very upset and Ill. I was back within 48 hours and had my gallbladder removed, was cared for by a different doctor who took me seriously and dispatched his duties with great care, compassion to and efficiency. Dr. Gayapershad seemed to me to be more concerned his ER stats than proper care of patients. His dismissive and minimal care approach did not prove effective nor efficient in the end. I would go so far as to say he owes me an apology for lack of care and further endangering my health and wellbeing.
